Frequently Asked Questions: Export Sales

What is a CMR Consignment Note?

For buyers the CMR provides transparency, and traceability throughout the delivery process. The CMR acts of proof of the transport contract between the seller, carrier and buyer detailing:

  • The machinery being transported
  • Collection and delivery locations
  • Consignor and consignee details
  • Carrier information
  • Condition of the goods at the collection point

What is Export Documentation?

Having complete paperwork helps avoids delays and gives customers confidence in the used quality plant machinery and construction equipment provenance. Export documents include commercial invoices, machinery serial numbers and identification details, proof of ownership, transport documentation, packing or loading information where required.

What is Machinery Compliance?

Depending on the machine type and destination country, customers may require: CE marking confirmation where applicable, 0perator manuals, safety documentation, maintenance records and inspection reports.

What about Shipping and Logistics Management?

A major concern for buyers is arrangement transport – at Euro Plant Sales, we make it hassle-free. All our exports and logistics are handled professional from the collection at our Irish facility to transport booking, route planning and delivery coordination with every customer.

Is there Export Insurance during transit?

For high-value plant machinery, transport insurance is an important consideration. We can talk you through the process on who is responsible for the machinery during transit, whether goods are insured by the carrier, whether additional cargo insurance is recommended and when ownership occurs with transfer from seller to buyer.

What about European Market Knowledge as an Exporter?

Different countries often require different documentation, transport requirements and registration procedures. As an experienced plant machinery exporter in Ireland, we can guide customers through the process whether in Eastern or Western Europe.
